This fall the top color in fashion is orange. Burnt orange in a blouse, skirt, pants or jacket will give that splash of color that fall needs. So look for something to complement your pant, skirt or suit with a splash of orange when shopping for your fall winter wardrobe. The warmer color of peach will brighten the wardrobe for those that dislike bright colors. A touch of red will brighten up a fall wardrobe too.

When choosing your color scheme think fall and winter. This year the military color khaki is popular so look for it in your pants, skirts and even dresses. Camel has always been a great fall color and classic. A blazer or coat is just the right touch to make your wardrobe complete. You may even find some camel items made in suede and leather for that luxurious touch.

Suede, fur and leather will always be popular in the fall. Colors will range from brown, rust, black, deep green to charcoal gray. In the office suits with jackets and the pencil skirt will make a comeback. Pantone colors like bamboo and cedar will show up in the stores. Expect to see those leopard, tiger and giraffe designs agin for those daring trend setters. What’s 1 more click?

As we approach the fall and winter season certain trends in sportswear are apparent. Tweed is making a comeback this year. The nubby wooly textures of tweed are echoed in the many other textures we are seeing too. Lots of lush velvets, faux fur and patterned sweaters are everywhere. Leather jackets and boots also seem to be in abundance this year. Shoes and boots are taking either vintage or radical shapes. We are seeing very different heel ideas coming up. It seems that designers are thinking outside the box when it comes to shoes now. Anything’s possible with shoes because we’re seeing thick, patterned tights and even socks being worn with them. Gone are the bare legs and sheer hosiery that was once the standard. One thing is apparent about heel height. Very low-heeled, almost flat, boots or extremely high heels seem to be the popular choices.
Evening wear is shiny and the extravagant fabrics that these dresses and suits are made from come in lots of rich jewel tones. There is a definite trend toward the mod look of the 60s too. Hairstyles with straight bangs, cute tailored cloth coats, pearls and evening gloves are making appearances this fall.

What fascinates us so much about the bios of women-s fashion designers? Many girls can remember a time in their lives when they sat with pencil in hand and tried to draw out their ideas for clothes down on paper. There were princess dresses and starlet gowns, mixed with what we thought were futuristic designs. Some girls wanted to be movie stars, the rest of us wanted to dress them.

Being able to research women’s designer bios in classic fashion trends offer those same dreams to a new generation. It also gives us older gals a way to still hang on to some of our younger career fantasies. No matter what age we become, clothes will always be a large part of who we are and who we reflect we are to the rest of the world.

Even if you are not that big on current fashion trends, check out some classic ones from years past. The eccentricities found in some of the designer-s bio will amuse you, shock you and enlighten you. It will make you realize that they were all once small children, with a pencil in hand, watching the awards shows only for the red carpet walk.

We’ve been watching a lot of old movies and documentaries on our Direct satellite lately and we noticed a trendsome styles never go out. We’ve got an end all be all list for you – think Jackie O. or Audrey.
Trench Coats – It’s the time of year trench coats were made for and nothing makes you look more effortlessly stylish than a classic black or beige trench thrown over jeans or a dress. Invest in a nice one and wear it forever.
Boat Neck – Something about this silhouette rings “rich” and we think it’s really flattering, too. Boat necks scream that you’ve got a yacht and they also do wonders to show off both a great collarbone and a stunning necklace.
Sheath Dress – There’s something to be said for one of the only silhouettes that flatters literally every woman. Get a strong black sheath and wear it all kinds of ways: dress it up with jewelry or be casual with a scarf and cardigan. It’s one of the only fall looks that truly takes you from the office out to dinner.

Not only did she star in the MTV hit reality show “The Hills”, and her own spin-off, “The City,” she is now designing full-time, which is something we got a sneak peak at on her television shows.
Whitney was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father actually owns a fashion company named “Swarm.” It looks like fashion is in her genes. She attended high school at the Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences. Is this new to you? Catch up here She attended college at the University of Southern California.
Whitney got her start in fashion by being an intern at “Women’s Wear Daily” magazine, and later, “W” magazine. She then went on to win a much coveted job of fashion contributor for “Teen Vogue” magazine. She then worked for Diane von Frstenberg. She has since spread her wings and started her own line called “Whitney Eve.” This line made its debut in New York Fashion Week in 2009. It received great reviews from critics. Her line of clothing combines ethereal femininity, with a functional design. It is one of the most promising new fashion lines out there today.

Designers of Women’s fashion have become household names. Starting with Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy, born in Beauvais, he made his way to Paris to learn from the masters. His contribution to fashion took place in the 1950s when he introduced the concept of separates, where light skirts and puff-sleeved blouses became the fashion trend. With Audrey Hepburn he created the Hepburn look with the swan neck and willowy hips.
Givenchy retired in 1995 and was succeeded by John Galliano. Born in Gibralter and raised in London, John Galliano graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with first class honors. His first collection was bought in its entirety by Browns, a London boutique. After several financial downturns he became the head designer of Givenchy in 1995. His return to haute couture attracted younger women who were fashion savvy. Inspired by theatre and femininity his 1996 collection met with great resounding success. In 1996 he was moved to Christian Dior but in 2011 he was dismissed due to anti-Semitic remarks. Currently Galliano produces six ready to wear and collections annually. He sells under the name of Dior and G Galliano. He is the recipient of numerous international awards.
